Here is the fall quilt that I finally finished putting the binding on. It's been sitting around so long there are creases in the middle that I hope are not permanent. I will attempt to press it later.
The sketch below is one I started last year and put aside. I have few of these. and this one fell out of a pile when I was unearthing something else yesterday in my work space. I started it as a gift that was supposed to be for my friend for Christmas last year. I wound up buying her a bunch of fabric and a book instead. I lack confidence and technique. When I do one of these drawings I almost always have the urge to do MORE. What I mean is I just can't leave well enough alone. I have to go back and add more-outlines, more color, more everything. I need a sign that says LESS IS MORE-Put Down the Pencils and walk away... So....I'm usually unhappy with my results and I find unfinished pieces like this collecting dust. Attitude adjustment needed here! I'm off to the store now for a number of last minute things-fruit, wine, flowers and lots of Tylenol 8 hr. The weather has turned dark and stormy here and I feel achy and tired-Winter sucks but I don't really like summer either. I already have some whine with my wine...Have a happy turkey day everyone.

That's a beautiful drawing!
Hi Dee, thanks for stopping over at my blog..*VBS* It's always nice to see a new face!
I had to pop over and see where you blog and leave a comment..I hope!!
Not sure blogger will let me, but am going to try.
I really appreciate what you said about the volunteer work, and helping where it is needed.
Maybe I shouldn't have mentioned what seems so obvious to me, but hopefully the "mention" without getting into a rant is ok..*S*
Like I said, I think most of us are almost to insulated to see the real situations of hunger, even here in the wealthiest nation in the world.
I live in too small a village for there to be any kind of meal offering on holidays, but we do have a food pantry. Several in fact, seperate from what our county does. What is available through the churches offers more variety and "extras" than the county. I delighted the county has a program and gives out large government surplus, but it's pretty much only 1 bag. Some meat(often vension) and nothing fresh. Certainly not enough for a month, even for just 1 person.
I've been a driver, helping deliver the bags to those who can't drive. Other than that, the county uses paid help.
I bookmarker your blog and will be back to see what you are up to in quilt land..*VBS* Hugs, Finn
H, Dee,
Just stumbled on your blog and wanted to say how much Iliked our Japanese Lanterns quilt, as well as the lovely Autumn Leaves one. Gorgeous colors, lovely designs and altogether beautiful quilts.
Also loved your drawing...didn't seem "too much" to me...in fact, I wanted to see more, more more!
STOP!
WALK AWAY!
It's LOVERLY!
Wow, you really have it! It's beeyoootiful! Yes, walk away. You're there!
Love your log cabin. Especially that red border fabric. Fab-o.
Oh, that log cabin is gorgeous! I am having a great urge myself to start another log cabin--they just say "quilt" to me! And your sketch is beautiful. You are so talented.
thanks Ladies, I'll take your advice and leave it alone at this point. Square it up and call it done....
Beautiful drawing! Love the log cabin too--one of my favorite patterns and I don't have a one.
Here again, Dee--twins! I was an art minor and always have to tweek the hell out of every drawing, painting, etc. I attempt and end up hating it. Your's is lovely--proceed without major adjustments!
I love this drawing just the way it is!! It has a delicate feel and the colors are just beautiful. I don't know why you had it hidden away (well, yes, I do 'cause I have that same inner critic!) but as someone recently told me....just put some duct tape over that inner critic's mouth!! This is a lovely piece of work.
