Better Hurry WIP-and more flix

What the heck is up with Blogger's spell check? Very annoying and it's been this way for weeks. Bah!

I'm working on the baby quilt for my friend Pam's new grandchild who is arriving any minute. They know the baby is a girl so even though it's no big surprise-it's still so exciting. I'm especially excited since someone else gets to be a grandma before me. I am the oldest member of our little group and , for the time being, I'm not a grandmother even though some days I feel like a great grandmother. Here's a shot of the top. I am making a checkerboard border around the edges and that will get this one done and out very quickly.
I guess I made Blogger mad at me because now I can't up-load any photos. If I could, I would show you the latest batch from B---buster. I got The Tudors with a much more yummy Henry XIII that actual historical drawings and painting would show. He was considered handsome in his youth(although I think he had a horse-face)but very soon was not attractive and suffered from a number of maladies that would tend to make one cringe, not the least of which was severe halitosis and skin rashes. All that aside, I grew up with Henry being played by Charles Laughton. This Henry is, as the girl in Bl---buster said gleefully, yummy. I proceeded to leave her befuddled because she about 15 and Charles Laughton is, naturally, unknown to all but crones like me. Sweet girl though. Must come fromt he upper midwest. She had that funny way of speaking that reminded me of Marge Gunderson in Fargo...ya. Adorable child. Anyway, I also got Gone Baby Gone because something good has to come from a book that good. Also got "Once" and "No Reservations", but I'm fairly sure that it can't be anywhere near as good as "Mostly Martha" which it was a re-make of and I adored. Right now I'm popping in one of the Henry XIII and getting a move on before the little one arrives. Due date-Valentines Day, YIKES! Back later.

This is pretty; sweet and baby girlish.
Speaking of Henry VIII, I recently saw a preview for The Other Boleyn Girl, and whoever the actor playing Henry is in that, he is VERY yummy. I too think of him as Charles Laughton and those paintings by Holbein, ( I think) when he was middle aged and fat.

Love the quilt. Can't wait to see it with the border.
I did see the Tudors. The whole cast looks much better than probably actually was. They all have their teeth and their skin is not pockmarked... and if I remember correctly... they didn't have implants then... not the teeth kind.

Loved Mostly Martha... Hmmm Gone Baby Gone? I will have to look that one up.

Now, I have that song "I'm Hen-er-y the Eighth, I am" going on in my head. Thanks! I loved Once. I have Gone Baby Gone due in, soon, from Netflix.

The quilt is so sweet. It will be loved.

Delightful quilt! Let us know how you like "Once." I haven't ordered it from OnDemand but I love a good foreign flick.

Dee, very pretty baby quilt. Your friend will be so excited for the baby and a beautiful quilt! Haven't seen The Tudors--or any other movie in quite a while besides Evan Almighty which came on PPV one night. I really liked it. Sort of like A Night at the Museum. It's so rare for them to make movies the entire family can watch without peppering it with profanities, sex, etc. But I must watch The Tudors. I loved Elizabeth with what's-her-name in it but Dh would have been snoring after the first three minutes. No cars blowing up, random gunfire, etc.
