So Many Celebrations

It's Primary Day, Giants ticker-tape parade, Mardi Gras, Chinese New Year, Setsubon-woohoo! Must be some sort of auspicious happening in the world. I was born in the year of the Rat. I hope this year is as exciting as many of the horoscopes I've read. I'll be happy if it is a year of good things and pleasant changes. Since I have the ever-sarcastic sense of humor, I had to laugh at the last description of my sign-holding on to things-packrat here. Definitely a good description. I was looking for something good to photograph today when I saw the hawk outside, perched in a tree nearby, waiting patiently for a small moving morsel. A few weeks ago I saw a smaller one. This one today was the Daddy Hawk. I wonder if he was sitting out there above me while I ws emptying the groceries out of the car???? I would have gladly thrown him a small piece of lamb to throw him off my track. It's a jungle out there. Making crab cakes for dinner so I better get on the stick. Talk to you tomorrow.

Great descrition and image! It is a big day. And I think Daddy Hawk heard it was Fat Tuesday and wanted in on some action. Good thing he didn't see you or your omen pack rack or his nest might have been extra full...grocery sacks full, in fact! Ok. Miss Pack Rat, time to show us your secret stash!!! 'Fess up!

You got me curious and I discovered I am the Dragon!!! Oh my! Doesn't sound too flattering.

We have red tailed hawks here. There must be one close by because the birds have disappeared from our feeders.
