Here kitty kitty....

Whipping up a little something for a little one who is on the way. I thought this one block with a little bit of a checkerboard border will be a cute little something to hang in the kidlets room. Big cat lovers so this should hit the spot.
There's a rather loud storm heading our way. I can hear the static on the radio and the thunder in the distance and I'm thinking I don't want to turn on the Viking until it passes. Not sure what a power outage would do to the innards. I think it's plugged in to a power surge protector but maybe I'll just hang out and wait for this to pass.
I've been doing a lot of cooking lately and trying to make things with less salt. Salt is really delicious...sigh. I know, I know, you can substitute lots of herbs and spices, all very well, but the missing salt is hard to get used to. It's good for us and especially Roger since he's having an issue with swelling of the feet from his meds.
I'm walking on the treadmill daily. That's a good thing since I haven't done a lot of good for myself all summer. I'm sure the Dr. will have plenty to say about that in a few weeks when I go for a check-up.
I'm going to sign off now since I just saw lightening...eeeeeek. Talk to you later

Since I reduced our salt intake some time ago, I am now extremely sensitive to salt in foods. You can really change the taste buds.

Hope your coming storm is not too bad. I still have a fear of those "nor easter" storms with the low pressure, wind, lightning, thunder. Bad, bad, bad.

So pretty - I think I have that cat print...

We are bracing for a storm too... I had to get a refill on an Rx during lunch - I moved the car closer to the building on my return.

I "never" add salt - except in baking - it is part of chemistry in cakes... Watching those TV cooks -I always wonder why they add so much salt...

Yeah, salt. Makes everything taste so good! I try to cut back too. The lite salt is not too bad and the extra potassium in it helps with the leg cramps I seem to get. Getting old and defective is hell, isn't it?

That kitty is great!

That's a darling cat print; a family of cat lovers should be very pleased.

As for salt, I feel your pain. My mother had to go on a very low sodium diet a while back, and it was awful for her, and everyone else. Constant complaints. She's used to it now though, and doesn't mind. We haven't uses extra salt for quite a while and don't miss it. So, hang in there.

That is a cute cat print... please show us the finished product.

Lucky for me salt has never been a big thing, but it is for hubby and he hates not to have it.
