Brrrrrr

Baby, it's cold outside! We got the worst of it yesterday. More than a foot and now the temps are really down and it's windy.
We really haven't had a major snowfall in a couple of years so I guess we had this coming. That's James trying to find a place to throw some more snow so he can get to his car and un-cover it. We got there eventually. Not until it was almost dark out. Memo to snowblower users...the snowblower doesn't like bluestone. It just wouldn't quit snowing. Bah! Last week I had on a light shirt and the windows open. This will take forever to go away. Well, at least the sun is out.
All the "boys" finally went off to work and I'm doing some cleaning before I tackle some sewing things.
I made a quick little table topper for a friend that needs some light quilting and a border. As soon as I finish the border on another little piece that needs mailing out.
Blogger was very bad yesterday-in fact, the whole Internet experience was pretty bad yesterday. It's somewhat better this morning but not great.
I need to get going so I'll talk to you soon.

Oh wow. That is a lot of snow. It looks freezing. We just had a light dusting. That is a lot for Alabama.

Hi Dee, thanks for the lovely comment and an "oh my" on the winter storm and cold you are getting out east! It seems like it forgot how to stop!
You know, I rarely, if ever, get into "stuff" that requires a soap box on my blog. Guess I've never felt it for the format for it, but having listened to the grandmother in Elkhart, IN, I felt I had to raise my small voice and ask us to help each other a bit.
I totally know that "lazy" has nothing to do with it, but it's amazing how often that is the assumption on part of many. And that is people worked harder or lived differently, we wouldn't have the homeless. What's amazing is how often our homeless are mothers and children or soldiers after serving overseas. We are quite 'broken' as a society, I think. I hope and pray we can do better, for ourselves and those around us. I'm not my brothers keeper, but sure can lend a hand or give a quilt or a bag of groceries, and not judge him.
Love the little quilt for a friend, and especially the little found one. Those hourglasses from charms are so neat!*VBS* Take good care of you and yours, big hugs, Finn

How will you quilt the small one in the last photo? I made something similar and was going to hand quilt but my hands have arthritis and it makes them so sore. I have yet to try machine quilting on my DSM but want to learn (was spoiled because I had the longarm). I'm afraid to start because I worry that I'll ruin it. So it remains unquilted for now.

Wow - that's a lot of snow you've got there. I seem to always be longing for some in my neck of the woods . . . . but truth be told I wouldn't know what to do our how to act if it did. I'll just keep enjoying from afar *s*

I was wondering how you were fairing with all of that Easterner's snow! Glad you've got electricity and heat and good guys to remove some of the snow.

You stay safe and warm and have fun sewing!

Hugs....
